Highlights
With the ambition of becoming Net Zero by 2045, Bruynzeel has now reached a big milestone, which is to lead the industry of space creating storage systems and become climate-neutral for its own operations as from June 2021!
By applying Bruynzeel’s space saving storage solutions, our customers achieve a reduction of up to 75% of the physical footprint. With that, they achieve tremendous savings on building materials and construction costs as well as operational costs such as heating, cooling and lighting. This makes every space saving solution by Bruynzeel per definition a sustainable choice.
Bruynzeel’ strategic objective is to be the world’s most environment friendly provider of space saving storage solutions. To achieve that objective we are continuously working on reducing our footprint and thus contributing to a sustainable planet.
Bart Sijben, COO Bruynzeel
Bruynzeel has now reached another milestone in our path to Net Zero; Having our own business operations climate neutral. By “own operations” we mean our scope 1 and scope 2 emissions according to the greenhouse gas protocol*. We eliminate these emissions by, as from June 1st, solely procuring local green electricity from local solar and wind installations and green gas from local digesting installations.
In addition we will continue with further energy reduction programmes and continuously monitor and manage our energy use to make sure we use a bit less every year. By doing this, we act in accordance with the SME guidelines from the Science Based Targets.
Alexander Collot d’Escury, CEO Bruynzeel
Bruynzeel next steps will be to build an ecosystem around us, with partners that share the same dream. Together with our partners we strive to lead the industry in becoming Net Zero by 2045!
* Scope 1 covers direct emissions from owned or controlled sources. Scope 2 covers indirect emissions from the generation of purchased electricity, steam, heating and cooling. Scope 3 Scope 3 includes all other indirect emissions that occur in a company’s value chain.
